Job description

Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to the office at least three days per week. If you live outside an 80 KM radius from Markham Elevation Centre, the role will be remote.

The Role

We are at a pivotal time in our industry where simulation techniques are paving the way towards a digital revolution of our engineering tools and systems. As we develop new software content for our vehicles, our vision is to augment simulation techniques with AI to enable maximum efficiency, increased robustness, and optimized workflows that are scalable.

To achieve this, we are creating dedicated teams focused on AI, data analytics, simulation, and automation frameworks for hardware, software, and system design and development. This role is critical for building AI models that can effectively extract and learn from existing core information.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Model, build, and test AI-based software with complex inputs.
  • Utilize expertise in LLMs and AI agents to enhance our software/tools stack, maintaining connections to data frameworks.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, simulation experts, and calibration specialists to develop capabilities within our CoSimulation framework.
  • Prototype new AI solutions aligned with evolving goals to future-proof our technology stacks.
  • Create visualizations and interpret AI outputs with physical meanings.
  • Continuously challenge the status quo to deepen understanding of our data.
  • Manage ambiguity creatively while focusing on deliverables.
  • Lead and mentor team members towards common objectives.

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in LLM development, AI automation, or NLP solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data science, statistics, signal processing, and simulation frameworks.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, C/C++, and AI libraries like PyTorch, TensorFlow.
  • Experience in developing and deploying LLM and deep learning models for NLP.
  • Knowledge of RAG, generative AI techniques, and hybrid models is advantageous.
  • Experience with full-stack AI deployment, including scalable ML pipelines using Docker, Kubernetes, FastAPI, and cloud services.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in this emerging field.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD in related fields, with a focus on NLP or LLM research.
  • Experience in automotive software development processes.
  • Proven track record in developing NLP solutions from problem statement to deployment, including cloud solutions.
  • Experience with advanced simulation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of robust optimization techniques like GAs, PSO, MDO.
