As a Senior Advisor in the Tidal Financial Services & FP&A team, you will be responsible for the coordination of payment processing for all Tidal commodities, you will have oversight of the Openlink GL/Accrual interfaces and Cash Management/Cash Clearing duties as well as the daily bank activity/bank balances . You will also lead the settlement responsibilities for Tidal from a Financial Services perspective. In addition, you will assist the Tidal Manager and Specialist with FP&A, including but not limited to budget and forecasting, actual vs actual and actual vs budget/forecast monthly and quarterly analysis and normalization entries.

What You Will Do:

Enbridge Risk Management Canada and US

  • Processing payments and clearing the AP subledger for AP close (all commodities)
  • Openlink Actuals GL Interface (ERMI, ERMUS, TEMI GAS, & TEMUS GAS)
  • Cash Management cash clearing for TEMI, TEMUS, ERMI & ERMUS for all commoditites
  • OpenLink Financial Settlements and Interfaces (all commodities)
  • Review Bank, Broker & Balance Sheet Reconciliations for ERMI, ERMUS, TEMI & TEMUS
  • Review and post JEs for ERMI & ERMUS to clear financial settlement balances w/ Brokers
  • Clearing the AR subledger for AR close (all commodities)
  • TEMI & TEMUS weekly payment runs (T & Th)
  • Lead the Financial Services settlement (20th for TEMUS and 25th for TEMI)

Reporting and Budgets

  • Support the forecasting and budgeting process including verification of assumptions used, review of market conditions, and overall reasonability.
  • Prepare budget and forecast presentations to senior management.
  • Actual vs Actual and Actual vs Budget/Forecast monthly variance analysis
  • Posting normalization entries

Effective Financial Systems and Processes

  • Support the development of Tidal’s financial systems and processes, to ensure these systems and processes are well aligned with EM’s risk and operating systems.
  • Liaison with the BU financial managers, the Front Office, IT Dept., Enterprise Risk Dept., Corporate Accounting and other areas on systems development issues and plans.

Projects, Continuous Improvement and Performance Measurement

  • Assist with the execution of projects which increase the capabilities and efficiencies of the financial functions which support Tidal using project management and problem solving skills.
  • Support the continuous improvement process, across Tidal.
Who You Are:

Required

  • University degree in a related field (accounting, finance or financial risk management).
  • Professional accounting designation.
  • Six or more years of post-designation experience in a related financial environment.
  • Significant energy marketing accounting experience, preferably gained in a Back Office
  • Public accounting firm experience preferred
  • Specialized knowledge on preparation of business analytics of a commodity marketing business.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills and a strong commercial focus.
  • Proven ability to organize and complete projects aimed at improving financial and system processes.
  • Solid understanding of sophisticated oil / natural gas marketing and risk systems (Open Link, Oracle Cloud, Smartview/EPBCS/HFM).
  • Effective leadership and problem solving skills to resolve complex issues.

Physical Requirements (Include but are not limited to):

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
