Job summary

The Cahill Group is seeking a Sprinkler Designer in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia to develop detailed fire sprinkler system designs and hydraulic calculations for diverse projects. You will coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure designs meet relevant codes and client specifications while conducting site surveys as needed.

Ideal candidates will have fire protection sprinkler design experience, proficiency with design software, and knowledge of NFPA standards;

Qualifications

• Experience designing fire sprinkler systems for commercial, residential or industrial projects.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards and local fire codes.
• NICET Certification in Water-Based System Layout is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed fire sprinkler designs, layouts and hydraulic calculations using AutoCAD, HydraCAD, Revit, etc.
• Ensure designs meet NFPA standards, local codes and client specs.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors and clients to incorporate requirements into designs.
• Conduct site surveys as needed to verify conditions and update designs.
• Prepare submittals, material lists and documentation for project approval and installation.
• Provide technical support to installation teams to ensure adherence to design specs.
• Maintain accurate project records for future references.

Life Safety Systems, a division of Atlantica, is looking for a Sprinkler Designer to join our team in our Dartmouth, NS office. The Sprinkler Designer will play a crucial role in developing accurate and efficient designs for fire sprinkler systems in a variety of projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial spaces.

This May Be a Good Fit For You If

• You have experience in fire protection sprinkler design or related field.
• You’re proficient with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HydraCAD).
• You have strong attention to detail with the ability to identify potential design issues proactively.
• You’re an effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients.

It would also be an asset if you have knowledge of NFPA standards and a NICET Certification in Water-Based System Layout.

What will you do as a Sprinkler Designer?
