Job description

SpringWorks Festival is seeking a Production Assistant for our 2025 World in a Weekend: International Puppet Festival!

The Production Assistant will provide technical and mechanical support to the operations of the festival.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organising equipment inventory
  • Assembling necessary equipment for events
  • Setting & striking event venues
  • Operating lights & sound systems when needed (basic instruction provided)
  • Providing general support to visiting artists & companies
  • Other tasks as mutually agreed upon

Skills & Experience

  • Ability to lift & carry equipment (50+ lbs)
  • Quick learner
  • Takes initiative
  • Organized
  • Experience operating sound & lighting systems preferred

This is an in-person position in Stratford, Ontario, requiring English fluency. Successful candidates will be self-motivated and will have strong communication skills.

Conditions of Employment

  • Short-term contract position (approximately 8 weeks)

This position is generously funded through Canada Summer Jobs. To be eligible for this role, candidates must:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
