The Team
The Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) team in Nanaimo is a well-established, medium-sized group dedicated to providing mental health services to children, youth, and families. The team works extensively with children under 12, collaborating with local schools, community partners, clinicians, and psychiatrists to deliver comprehensive care. Their focus is on supporting younger children and school-age kids, with a strong emphasis on providing parent and caregiver support.
The Role
As a CYMH Clinician, you will provide mental health services to children and youth 12 and under, addressing emotional, psychological, and behavioral challenges. This includes conducting assessments, creating treatment plans, and offering individual, group, and family therapy. You will work closely with parents and caregivers to offer support and guidance, while collaborating with schools, community partners, and other clinicians. Your role will focus on supporting younger children and school-age kids, ensuring that their needs are met effectively. You will also provide consultation and training to other clinicians. Your work will directly contribute to the well-being and positive outcomes of children and families. About this Position:
Flexible work options are available after probation; this position may be able to work from home up to 2 day a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
