The Government of British Columbia is seeking a Child and Youth Mental Health Clinician to provide essential clinical services to children and youth across diverse communities. This role emphasizes teamwork, compassion, and a commitment to enhancing mental wellness in collaboration with various service organizations. Ideal candidates will have a Master's degree in a relevant field and experience in community-based mental health services.
The Team
CYMH teams across Northern BC are made up of dedicated professionals working in communities that span vast and diverse geographies. The Role
As a Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Clinician, you’ll support the mental wellness of children, youth, and families through direct clinical services such as intake, assessment, treatment, suicide risk assessment, safety planning, and crisis intervention for ages 0–18. Working flexibly across homes, schools, communities, and offices, you’ll collaborate with professionals including educators, healthcare providers, Indigenous service organizations, and community agencies to deliver holistic care. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO APPLICANTS
Some of these rural locations are currently eligible for a retention incentive which is available to all regular permanent Social Program Officers residing in Hard To Recruit (HTR) designated communities across the province. In addition to the re-imbursement of relocation costs (where applicable), the incentive program provides the following:
Full payment of the incentive is based on regular eligible classifications (SPO R18 to SPO R30) working in an approved location for the full fiscal year (April 1 to March 31). A pro-rated incentive payment may be provided to candidates who work a partial year and/or part-time hours.
