The Government of British Columbia is seeking an experienced child protection worker to join the Provincial Centralized Screening team in Kelowna. The role involves providing leadership in a fast-paced shift environment, supervising staff, and impacting the lives of families in need. Ideal candidates will hold relevant educational credentials and have a strong background in social work or related fields, along with a commitment to child welfare.
The Team
Provincial Centralized Screening provides province-wide child protection screening services in a fast paced, 24-7, rotating shift work environment. There are multiple teams of dedicated social services workers including Directors of Operations, Team Leaders, Child Protection Workers, Support Workers and Social Program Officer Assistants. The services provided by Provincial Centralized Screening have a direct impact on the well-being of children, youth and families throughout British Columbia.
The Role
This is a challenging and meaningful role for a fully qualified child protection worker with C6 delegation under the Child, Family and Community Service Act and experience supervising staff. This is a great opportunity for experienced workers who thrive in a fast-paced shift work environment and enjoy providing leadership and guidance to child protection workers to make a difference in the lives of children, youth and families throughout British Columbia.

About this Position:
There are currently two (2) temporary opportunities available one ending on 28/02/2026 and the other 09/08/2026.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future permanent and/or temporary vacancies in these communities (ie Kelowna, Kamloops, Vancouver, Surrey).
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to three (3) days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA)will berequired.
