A regional health authority in Winnipeg is seeking an Indigenous Health Specialist to address the spiritual needs of patients. Under the general supervision of the Director Health Services Indigenous Health the incumbent is responsible for: assessing and responding to the unique spiritual needs of patients clients residents and their families / supports in an open and non-judgmental manner; tending to the cultural / spiritual care needs of an individual and family within a WRHA facility / program. Providing the necessary guidance and resources to facilitate clients on their healing journey in a manner that is sensitive and respectful.
This is a Designated Indigenous Position. This position may be held by someone of Indigenous ancestry who is First Nation Metis Inuit and / or Non-Status. Candidates will be required to undergo screening as required.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT.
