Job summary

William Osler Health System is seeking a Speech Pathologist for the Speech Therapy Corporate program. This part-time, 12-month temporary position reports to the Clinical Services Manager, Professional Practitioner and involves days/evenings across multiple Osler sites in Brampton and surrounding areas.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology and state licensure. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, computer literacy (Meditech preferred), and ability to

• Registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage dysphagia using clinical and instrumental assessments.
• Screen and manage communication and screening activities.
• Educate patients and families with clear resources and referrals.
• Relate findings to patients and inter-professional teams promptly.
• Collaborate with the speech-language pathology team and attend meetings.

This position will report to the Clinical Services Manager, Professional Practitioner.

Accountabilities:

• Assessment and management of dysphagia using clinical and instrumental assessment
• Communication and screening/assessment and management
• Providing education, resources and referral to patients and families in a clear and accessible manner
• Completing assessments and relays findings to patients, families and inter-professional teams in a timely manner to facilitate access and flow
• Participating as part of the speech-language pathology team, attending meetings and education sessions where required
• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Registered and in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Computer literacy;experience with Meditech an asset
• Ability to multitask and effectively manage time in a fast paced medical environment
• Ability to work with an interdisciplinary team
• Experience with videofluoroscopy an asset
• Experience with tracheostomies an asset

• Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record required
• May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites

Hours: Currently days/evenings including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Minimum: $47.07 hourly

Maximum: $61.01 hourly
