Island Health is seeking a highly qualified Speech Language Practitioner in Victoria, BC. This position focuses on the assessment and treatment of children with communication disorders within a family-centered approach, ensuring optimal social and psychological wellbeing. Candidates must possess a Master's degree and relevant licensure, as well as demonstrated ability to engage with children and families in a therapeutic setting.

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Manager or designate and in the context of assigned team(s) with a family centred philosophy, responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a child's communication disorders in order to promote the social, physical, and psychological well being of the child. Clinical guidance/instruction is available from the Senior Speech Language Pathologist.
Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle; and Valid BC Driver's License.
Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Speech Language Practitioner. Master's degree from an accredited school of Speech Pathology and Audiology. Two years previous experience working with children who have multiple disabilities and communication disorders.
