The Speech Specialists are a highly experienced group of Speech Language Pathologists, Speech Language Associates, Behavioural Therapists, and Occupational Therapists that provide private in-home services for clients all across Southern Ontario. We provide individualized and comprehensive assessments as well as unique treatment programs for each of our clients. Job Description:

The Speech Specialists are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Speech Language Pathologist in Hamilton, ON.

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will be required to provide direct one-on-one therapy sessions to individuals within the GTA. The SLP will schedule hours of work based on client convenience and will need to be able to drive to various locations including homes, daycares, offices, and clinics.

Duties & Responsibilities

SLP Duties:

  1. Initial Assessments including speech, language, and cognitive communication
  2. Development of treatment plans
  3. Supervision for Communicative Disorders Assistant providing therapy
  4. Provide therapy to clients of various ages (children, adults, and rehab patients) under supervision of Speech Language Pathologist
  5. Work with clients from different backgrounds and specialized populations
  6. Collaborate and consult with other SLPs and interdisciplinary practitioners
  7. Provide families with resources, information, and home programs
  8. Assist with parent and client workshops
  9. Participate in continuing education classes and workshops to remain current
Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
  2. Registration in the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
  3. Minimum of 1 year experience in a clinical setting
  4. Experience with developmental disorders an asset
  5. Superior interpersonal skills, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills
  6. Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and a willingness to travel
  7. Strong computer, written, and verbal communication skills
