Speech-Language Pathologist - 1.0 FTE Temporary

Learning Services – Special Education

Applications from permanent employees from within the PSSP Bargaining Unit, other permanent Board employees, as well as external applicants will be considered.

The WRDSB serves a student population of approximately 64,000 pupils. The successful candidates will join an expanding, energetic and supportive department of Speech-Language Pathologists and Communicative Disorders Assistants. Reporting through the Speech-Language Pathologist Lead to the Superintendent of Learning Services – Special Education, the successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will have an opportunity to work collaboratively providing assessment, screening and consultation.

The Waterloo Region District School Board has an opening for a temporary 1.0 FTE Speech-Language Pathologist from September 2, 2025, to June 26, 2026. A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required. Salary will follow the PSSP collective agreement with a range of $80,641 to $96,070 per annum, prorated to FTE allocation.

Responsibilities

  • In-class observation, modeling and small group instruction
  • Withdrawal for assessment or programming for individuals and groups
  • Development of strategies and materials to assist in implementation of programs
  • Meetings with other multidisciplinary or school-based teams to determine collaborative response to school referrals and needs
  • Respond to system demands in regard to staff development, in-service and networking

Qualifications

  • must be registered with, or be eligible for, registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
  • a master’s degree or equivalent in speech-language pathology
  • excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
