Responsibilities

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in diagnosing, treating, and managing communication and swallowing disorders across all age groups. Your expertise includes assessing and improving speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing abilities. The primary responsibilities include:

  1. Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct evaluations using standardized assessments, clinical observations, and diagnostic tools to identify communication challenges and determine their severity, leading to accurate diagnoses.
  2. Treatment Planning and Intervention: Develop personalized treatment plans based on individual needs and goals. Design therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based techniques to improve communication and swallowing functions.
  3. Therapeutic Interventions: Implement various therapies such as articulation drills, language exercises, voice therapy, fluency strategies, and management protocols, providing personalized guidance to support skill development.
  4. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC): Assess the need for AAC systems and devices, collaborating with patients, families, and caregivers to select and customize solutions that facilitate communication.
  5. Dysphagia Management: Evaluate and treat swallowing disorders through assessments, exercises, diet modifications, and rehabilitation techniques to ensure safe and effective swallowing.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program
  • Current license/certification in the state of practice
