Responsibilities

1. Plans, organizes, and leads specialized instructional sports programs.
2. Evaluates participants and completes progress reports.
3. Stores equipment in a safe and secure location.
4. Performs administrative tasks to support the program.
5. Interacts with staff, parents, and participants to provide program information.
6. Develops and prepares individuals or teams for competition.
7. Follows the principles of Healthy Child Development (HIGH FIVE) in program planning and delivery.
8. Ensures program facilities, equipment, and supplies meet health and safety standards.
9. Acts to address incidents, problems, and emergencies, complying with divisional and city policies.
10. Attends and participates in meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications

1. Must be at least 16 years old.
2. Significant experience instructing in the designated sport.
3. Experience working with the appropriate age group.
4. Fully certified NCCP Level 1 or equivalent provincially or nationally recognized sport-specific accreditation.
5. Original current Emergency First Aid certification recognized by WSIB.
6. Certification in Parks and Recreation Ontario's Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD), provided at no cost upon conditional employment offer. Details and dates will be provided later.
