Job description

This position offers a full-time training opportunity (theory and practicum) to prepare staff for roles within a specified Island Health specialty department. Upon successful completion, staff will be placed in a regular full-time rotation within that department.

Note: There is an 18-month return of service requirement as a regular/permanent employee within the Island Health specialty department. Staff may transfer between departments within that specialty. This position reports to the Nurse Manager, Department Head, or designate. Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience

Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN, with recent medical and/or surgical experience. Upon completing the specialty training, the employee will transition into a regular position within the department.

Hours may vary based on operational needs and collective agreement provisions.
