Island Health is offering a full-time training opportunity for Registered Nurses to prepare staff for work in specialty departments. This position includes a direct nursing care role within hospitals or community settings, requiring adherence to established standards and a commitment to patient safety.
This position offers a full-time training opportunity (theory and practicum) to prepare staff for work in a specified Island Health specialty department. Upon completing the training, staff will be placed into a regular full-time rotation line within the same specialty department.
Note: There is an 18-month return of service requirement as a regular/permanent employee within the Island Health specialty department. Staff may transfer between departments within that specialty. Reports to the Nurse Manager, Department Head, or designate. Provides direct nursing care to patients/residents in hospital or community settings, adhering to the unit/program philosophy, competency guidelines, policies, and BCCNM Standards for Nursing Practice in British Columbia.
Registered with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN, with recent medical and/or surgical experience. Post-training, staff will transition into a regular position within the specialty department.
The hours of work, including days off and work area, may vary based on operational needs and applicable agreements.
