We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team in the Maternity department at GR Baker Memorial Hospital. Reports to Director of Care and is guided by the Visions and Values of Northern Health, BCCNM Standards of Practice and Codes of Ethics. Identifies, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care required to assist patients in meeting their physical, social and psychological needs in accordance with established NH and BVDH policies and procedures. Practices as a member of the nursing team.
Northern Health Regional Perinatal Training Program Details
- There are 4 training positions available for 2025/2026.
- Northern Health provides placement support and funding for tuition, textbooks, and travel expenses for clinical placements, as required.
- Learners should expect to make a 4-6 month commitment for this education, which includes online and in-person learning
- Additional study time, outside of scheduled hours, will be required to successfully complete the program
- Flexibility for practicums is necessary
- Applicants must successfully complete the education program prior to working in the department
- Upon successful completion of the education program, Northern Health requires an eighteen (18) month return of service in a regular position in the area of nursing applicable to the education program.
- Qualified applicants will be considered first for specialty positions. If there are no qualified applicants, training lines will be awarded to unqualified applicants and training will be provided

Qualifications
- Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
- Current Level C CPR certification required.
- Labour and Delivery / Recovery / Post Partum: One (1) year of recent related experience with a significant labour and delivery component, working in an acute care setting; or recent completion of an Advanced Obstetrical Certificate preferred.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Certificate preferred.

- Ability to operate related equipment.
