We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team in the Emergency Department at Dawson Creek & District Hospital.
The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to Emergency and High Acuity Care patients according to established standards and policies, and in alignment with the mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health. Responsibilities include identifying, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to assist patients in meeting physical, social, and psychological needs in the Emergency and High Acuity Care environment.
The Northern Health Regional Emergency Department Education Program (REDEP) utilizes a standardized online curriculum offered by Elsevier, Emergency Nursing Orientation (ENO). REDEP combines ENO online study with a skills/simulation lab and clinical practicum to prepare registered nurses to provide safe and competent emergency nursing care at a novice level. Upon completion of REDEP, learners transition into the Northern Health Critical Care Program - High Acuity Unit (NHCCP-HAU) with Essentials in Critical Care Orientation (ECCO). ECCO combines online curriculum with clinical practicum to prepare nurses to work in a High Acuity Unit at a novice level.

Construction is underway on the new Dawson Creek & District Hospital, anticipated to open in Spring 2027. This state-of-the-art facility will be over 50% bigger than the current hospital and will feature 70 beds, modern patient care spaces, and expanded and enhanced services to meet the growing needs of the community. Dawson Creek offers wide blue skies and the rolling foothills of the Northern Rockies, known as the Mile Zero City—the start of the Alaska Highway.
