Ndinawemaaganag Endaawaad Inc. is preparing to open a new location, and we're looking for a compassionate, dependable, and community-minded Specialized Services Coordinator to help create a safe, welcoming, supportive home for the Relatives we serve.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something new and make a meaningful difference by supporting Relatives as they build confidence, develop independent living skills, and work toward long-term housing stability.

What You'll Do
  • Build respectful, trusting, and supportive relationships with Relatives, maintaining a consistent and approachable presence within the home.
  • Support Relatives in developing independent living skills, understanding housing responsibilities, and building confidence in managing their homes and daily lives.
  • Encourage Relatives to identify personal goals, strengthen decision-making skills, and work toward greater independence while recognizing and celebrating their progress.
  • Assist Relatives in navigating housing-related challenges, resolving concerns, and developing strategies that promote long-term housing stability.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful living environment that encourages community connection, shared responsibility, and a sense of belonging.
  • Support Relatives in accessing community resources, cultural opportunities, and appropriate internal and external services.
  • Work collaboratively with the Site Manager, other Ndinawe programs, and community partners to support coordinated services and respond to emerging needs.
  • Promote the safety and well-being of Relatives while respecting their independence, privacy, personal choices, and dignity.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation, communicate relevant concerns, and support Ndinawe's culturally grounded approach to service delivery.
What We're Looking For
  • Post-secondary education in social services, community development, Indigenous studies, youth work, housing, or a related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Experience working with Indigenous youth, young adults, or individuals experiencing housing instability, preferably in a supportive housing or community-based environment.
  • Understanding of housing stability, independent living skills, and barriers that may affect individuals transitioning toward independent housing.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide compassionate, strengths-based support while promoting independence, self-determination, and personal growth.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, and respect for individual choices and personal spaces.
  • Understanding of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and ways of knowing, being, and living, with a commitment to culturally grounded service delivery.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and community partners.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, email, and electronic documentation.
  • Subject to Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, and Prior Contact Check.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence.

A detailed job description will be provided to candidates during the interview process. Responsibilities and timelines may be adjusted as operational plans are finalized.

As an Indigenous organization preference will be given to applicants who self-identify as being First Nations, Métis, or Inuit. Applicants are encouraged to self-identify in their cover letter.

Ndinawe requires a satisfactory criminal record check (including vulnerable sector search), child abuse registry check, and prior contact check prior to the commencement of employment.

Ndinawe will accept existing criminal record checks and child abuse registry checks if dated within 3 months of your start date. Should you be the successful candidate these documents are a condition of employment.

If you're someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems, and wants to contribute to something meaningful, we'd love to hear from you!

We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those candidates selected to an interview will be contacted.
