Why join the supplier metallurgical control team?

As a specialist you will be responsible for controlling the metallurgical and chemical integrity of products from the supply chain, including the quality of raw materials. You will be autonomous, but supported by a professional and friendly team, to conduct your development projects and surveillance of your allocated suppliers.

This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Longueuil, and performed exclusively on-site.

What will your day-to-day look like?

  • Carry out audits, monitoring and qualification of special processes on the premises of external suppliers;

  • Participate actively in the quality tasks related to product control (inspection plan, approval of fixed processes, review and approval of diverse metallurgical deviations, etc);

  • Participate actively in the resolution of process and production problems on suppliers’ premises, in collaboration with the Engineering and Procurement Department;

  • Participate in and actively contribute to the promotion of the company’s core values (EH&S, ethics, and quality) and in the implementation of continuous improvement principles and tools.

What do you need to be successful?

  • BAC in Metallurgy or equivalent

  • 10 years’ hands-on experience with special processes in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the aerospace industry;

  • Experience in special processes and their associated controls;

  • Targeted special processes are: brazing, welding, heat treatment, painting, anodizing and all types of plating, composite, forging and the conversion of materials, casting, Nonconventional Machining, coatings (plasma, diffusion), peening, etc;

  • Experience, aptitude and interest in working with external suppliers;

  • Good communication and interpersonal relationship skills;

  • Independent and results-oriented;

  • Availability for answering calls outside normal working hours;

  • Travel around 20% of the time.

This position is part of a French-speaking work environment; it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers, or international colleagues.
