Job Summary

The Data Procurement Specialist Role

The Data Procurement Specialist drives centralized procurement of external data (e.g. from ACNielsen, IQVIA) and supports the sales of data to external vendors. He/ she will lead procurement activities for external data, including vendor research, purchasing of data, ongoing vendor management, managing contract renewals and reporting.

Section A – Specific Responsibilities
  • Understand BUs business objectives, needs, feedback on external data sources and gather data requirements
  • Understand enterprise D&A (Data & Analytics) priorities and develop procurement strategies for data
  • Lead procurement activities:
    • Data vendor research
    • Select vendor according to McKesson procurement policies
    • Implement a data vendor selection process (criteria selection)
    • Contract management (renewals, set-ups and termination, support on the negotiation, changes requests, coordinate with stakeholders – Legal, Finance, Procurement)
    • Vendor on Boarding (gather relevant documents and coordination with the different McKesson stakeholders the creation of a new vendor)
    • Invoices (POs creation, liaison with Finance teams, payment notes, delivery confirmation, monitor payments)
    • Relationship management
  • Document data vendor management process, governance on payment and issues related to external data set (from vendors and McKesson)
  • Performance management
    • Create dashboard/reporting and KPIs on the data vendor performance management (revenue generated, quality, due date, service level)
  • Monitor agreements compliance
  • Be the primary liaison with data vendor QA Team and support on their queries
  • Be the primary liaison with spokes on additional reports and data requests for market data
Section B – Position Requirements
  • Minimum of 4+ years’ experience in a Procurement, Vendor management, and Contract management, or similar role. Knowledge of vendor landscape for data products and services, particularly in Canadian healthcare / Biopharma Industries a definite asset
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business administration and/or Procurement or related field required. MBA an asset
  • Strong coordination/collaboration skills necessary to gather requirements and insights from internal teams and stakeholders, and market data providers on a regular basis
  • Maintains strong research, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter capable of operating with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a team environment and build partnership
  • Experience in change management and adoption
  • Bilingual (English and French) with strong and effective written and oral communication skills with all levels of management
  • Proficient in the use of PC based office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Willingness to learn in environment in constant evolution and transformation
  • Customer service orientation with both internal and external customers
  • Ability to multi-task, working proactively and independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

The incumbent of this position will provide daily support to internal and/or external clients outside Quebec and/or in the United States. Therefore, he/she must be proficient in spoken and written English. Please note that the number of positions requiring English language skills has been limited where possible.

In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$66,400 - $110,600
