Job Description

The Accounts Receivable Specialist, integrated into the accounting department, plays a key role in credit processing and collections. Their primary mission is to optimize financial transactions and cash management, a critical element for the group. Their contribution is decisive in optimizing cash flow. Their cordial interpersonal skills ensure reliable internal and external relationships. The specialist uses sound judgment to mitigate and reduce bad debts and improve the company's liquidity.

By ensuring rigorous account monitoring and proactive communication both internally and with customers, they contribute to maintaining the company's financial health. His expertise also extends to the continuous improvement of processes, while ensuring compliance with financial standards and confidentiality, making him a key player in the daily performance of the organization.

Main tasks

Customer account management

  • Conduct credit inquiries and financial analyses of new clients
  • Assess creditworthiness and establish appropriate credit limits
  • Monitor collections and debt recovery
  • Manage customer reminders and analyses of unpaid bills
  • Process invoice complaints
  • Produce and send customer account statements


Analysis and reporting

  • Produce reports on collections and cash flow optimization
  • Develop short-term treasury forecasts
  • Analyze weekly accounting reconciliations
  • Identify and manage customer risks
  • Coordinate with other business units for complex credit analyses


Administration et collaboration

  • Open and maintain the customer accounts database
  • Collaborate with internal departments (sales, legal, project managers, etc.)
  • Support the Financial Director and Financial Controllers in various tasks
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects
  • Monitor performance indicators related to cash flow


All other tasks related to the processing of accounts receivable and collection are part of the responsibilities of the position.

Qualifications

  • DEC or AEC in accounting, financial management or equivalent combination with relevant experience
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in a similar position
  • Mastery of recovery techniques
  • Knowledge of the Construction sector (a strong asset)
  • Proficiency in Office/Google Suite: Excel/Sheet (an asset)
  • Functional bilingualism: written and spoken in French and English. English is frequently used to communicate with clients outside Quebec and for writing reports.
  • Knowledge of accounting and legal regulations
  • Mastery of CRM and ERP tools (asset).
