As a Technical Training Specialist, you'll support the development and delivery of technical training for the Winnipeg site. The technical trainer will be responsible for the development and deployment of the training program including in classroom instruction, work environment instruction, and operational instruction. This position will be part of a dynamic training team, delivering multiple streams of the training program. This will require a diverse skillset that includes flexibility and adaptability. The technical trainer will be expected to mentor the other trainers in their areas of strength while demonstrating the ability to learn new concepts. This may include capturing, developing and delivering new engine technology to our growing workforce. In addition, the technical trainer will be responsible for direct engagement with program participants to ensure program effectiveness in developing critical technical talent for the business.

What you'll do:
  • Deliver technical training to new employees via the COE training model and plan
  • Maintain the training records of employees
  • Support the design and preparation of standard instructional and participant materials
  • Perform miscellaneous duties related to training and development
  • Public relations - providing shop tours and attending events as required
  • Practical assessment of students as potential hires
  • Facilitate training sessions through delivery of the approved standard materials
  • Model behaviors consistent with good quality, health and safety, and environmental management practices
  • Conduct testing and evaluation per procedures
  • Maintain a positive and productive learning environment, and address any problem behaviors in the classroom promptly in accordance with policies
  • Ensure adherence to quality management and industry standards
  • Emphasize safety precautions to be taken in all training provided
  • Validate training by observing, measuring, testing, reviewing, and analyzing training to ensure that learning objectives are met effectively
Education requirement:

6+ years’ related operational work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

What skills you will use:
  • 5+ years of aerospace/aviation industry experience
  • 5+ years of experience working with detailed work instruction including reading and interpretation of OEM and industry standard documentation
  • Proficient in the use of computers, familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and integrated systems considered an asset
Preferred skills:
  • Experience with development and delivery of training content
  • Professional certification(s) in aerospace engine and component assembly and repair
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with quality procedures and documentation including process paperwork, parts routing procedures, overhaul and repair instructions, work instructions, and non-conformance reporting systems
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Must be willing to walk to various areas throughout the facility throughout the day
  • Must wear standard personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Must be able to lift components weighing up to 50 lbs. on and off shelving
  • Must be able to spend extended periods of time working at a computer or on the phone
  • Must be willing to travel as required
  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite in Winnipeg, Mb.
