Job summary

Enbridge Inc. in Calgary seeks a Specialist, Tax Planning to join the Tax Services team. We are seeking a Specialist, Tax Planning to join our Tax Services team in Calgary. The successful candidate will support highly complex Canadian tax planning, research, and tax controversy management. The candidate will work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to bring value and technical expertise to both department and company-wide initiatives, including organic growth projects, reorganizations, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and cash tax management.

What You Will Do:
  • Support tax planning initiatives, including corporate structuring, financing, repatriation, and cash tax management, while preparing memorandums and presentations and collaborating across the organization.
  • Provide tax advice on transactions, balancing technical requirements with commercial objectives and constraints.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve business processes and optimize transaction structures.
  • Conduct complex tax research and analysis, delivering strategic insights and ad hoc guidance on a wide range of tax matters.
  • Monitor legislative and policy changes, assess business impacts, and support the development of proactive tax planning strategies.
  • Partner across Tax functions to manage tax risk, support audits, ensure appropriate reporting and disclosure, and foster knowledge sharing and professional development.
Who You Are:
  • You possess a university degree in Business Administration or a related subject area.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in a Canadian corporate tax role or relevant experience.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant designation or law degree with experience in tax planning.
  • Completion of CPA In-Depth tax course.
  • Completion of CPA In-Depth Corporate Reorganizations Course and CPA International Tax Course would be an asset.
  • Strong technical expertise in Canadian income tax law, with proven tax planning, research, and advisory experience.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills related to income tax reporting, financial accounting, and complex business issues.
  • Collaborative and self-motivated professional with strong communication, judgment, and strategic thinking skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:

A high-paced office environment. Limited travel (<5%). Significant number of cross-functional meetings and communications.
