Job Description - Specialist - Operational Readiness Planning (HOP00074)

Reporting to the Superintendent – Process Plant, you will be part of the Process Plant Department. Your role will support the transition of a mining project from construction and commissioning toward operational readiness. You will act as a strategic partner across departments—engineering, maintenance, health & safety, environment, and operations—to develop, coordinate, and execute comprehensive operational readiness plans. You will lead readiness initiatives, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, and ensure systems, processes, people, and infrastructure are aligned for a safe, efficient, and sustainable operation. You will also ensure that goals are achieved while promoting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and environmental standards.

  • Coordinate readiness activities across departments to meet project milestones.
  • Develop and implement site-wide operational readiness frameworks and checklists.
  • Facilitate readiness reviews, gap analyses, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Manage readiness projects through all phases: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Maintain project documentation including charters, schedules, risk registers, and communication plans.
  • Track progress against KPIs and report regularly to leadership.
  • Work with department leads to define requirements, staffing, training, and system handovers.
  • Facilitate workshops, process mapping, and diagnostics for improvement opportunities.
  • Support development of SOPs, commissioning plans, and maintenance strategies.
  • Collaborate with finance and department heads to build business cases for initiatives.
  • Estimate resources, define success metrics, and quantify value of initiatives.
  • Assist departments in identifying data/reporting needs for monitoring readiness.
  • Use data visualization tools to communicate progress and insights.
  • Lead readiness meetings, follow up on actions and decisions.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in project management, operational readiness, or business optimization in industrial/resource sectors.
  • Skills in change management, strategic planning, and organizational execution.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and developing business cases for decision-making.
  • Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in cost management, budgeting, and financial reviews.
  • Ability to design and deliver business improvement training and facilitate workshops.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI or similar data visualization tools is an asset.

Note: The official working language at Hope Bay is English.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Hybrid schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, with teleworking and site presence once a month for about 7 days.
  • On-site accommodations and meals are provided at no cost. Travel expenses are covered by Agnico Eagle, including charter flights and other travel costs based on residence.
