About the role

Join the Investment Strategy and Governance team as a Specialist in Investment Strategy and Treasury Governance. In this dynamic role, you will act as a subject matter expert on governance, supporting staff, management, Pension Fund Trustees, Investment Committees, and other governance bodies in fulfilling oversight responsibilities over investment and treasury activities. You will also oversee and conduct sourcing activities for the division, applying a strategic lens to seek efficiencies.

What you’ll do :

  1. Enhance and maintain the governance framework for effective oversight, decision-making, and accountability.
  2. Conduct governance reviews, identify gaps, and recommend enhancements aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  3. Develop policies, processes, and governance documentation to ensure compliance and consistency.
  4. Coordinate material preparation and logistics for Trustee and Investment Committee meetings.
  5. Advise on governance and sourcing matters to ensure transparent and efficient decision-making.
  6. Research and liaise with external peers to understand best practices and seek process improvements.
  7. Lead and oversee all sourcing activities, ensuring compliance with policies, directives, and guidelines.
  8. Advise management on sourcing efficiencies and act as a challenge function with internal and external partners.

What you should have :

  1. An undergraduate degree in business, finance, or commerce.
  2. A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in governance, secretariat, or providing advice/support to a board or executive management.
  3. Strong analytical skills, including data synthesis and summarization of discussions.
  4. Experience leading reviews and implementation activities.
  5. Excellent listening skills and ability to focus for extended periods.
  6. Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English.
  7. Strong organizational and project management skills, with high attention to detail.
  8. Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally at all levels, including with Board members, Trustees, and senior management.

Preferred qualifications :

  1. Knowledge of investments, pension regulations, and compliance requirements related to investments.
  2. Knowledge of sourcing and vendor management.
  3. Proficiency in French communication skills (oral and written).
