Summary

The Consultant, ICT Systems Engineering at Epic, is responsible for resolving corporate and IaaS productivity issues related to IT operations efficiently and promptly. As part of the Technology Enablement team, the Consultant will deliver cloud infrastructure services to a broad customer base, from small businesses to international enterprises. Responsibilities include planning, developing, installing, configuring, auditing, and maintaining hardware, software, and related infrastructure, ensuring system functionality, data security, and usability aligned with organizational priorities. The role requires diagnosing and resolving performance issues, planning hardware/software updates, and combining technical expertise with leadership skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure support incidents.
• Support server hardware, virtualization, networking, storage, backup, and security systems, involving both on-site and remote work.
• Provide end-user support via phone, email, and other communication channels.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot network components such as switches, firewalls, routers, and wireless access points.
• Manage network and system access during employee transitions.
• Accurately log and track support tickets, maintaining diligent documentation.
• Prioritize and escalate issues as necessary, working independently.
• Create detailed documentation and reports on service events.
• Research and recommend infrastructure improvements following industry best practices.
• Develop and enforce security policies, perform patches, upgrades, and disaster recovery testing.
• Manage user access and act as a technical resource for projects.
• Provide mentorship and training to team members.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as VCP, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, ITIL.
• Practical knowledge of virtualization (vSphere, Hyper-V), clustering, and network technologies.
• Experience with Active Directory, SCCM, WSUS, MS SQL, DHCP, DNS, Linux (an asset), and MS 365.
• Experience with network security, including firewalls, intrusion detection, and intersite access points.
• Experience with Connectwise Automate.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical college or university degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years industry experience.
• CompTIA A+, Server+, or Network+ certifications.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and vehicle.
• Willingness to travel as required.
