Responsibilities

The Electromechanical Specialist is responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of postal equipment, including troubleshooting, testing, repair, and monitoring of electromechanical systems. Maintains electrical and electronic components of systems.

Key Duties
  1. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, read schematics, diagnose malfunctions, and work in physically demanding environments, including heights.
  2. Recommend updates to maintenance procedures, investigate major failures, and implement remedial actions.
  3. Initiate work orders, estimate resources, and plan maintenance tasks efficiently.
  4. Follow safety practices, advise on safe procedures, and ensure compliance.
  5. Maintain detailed documentation using the Computerized Maintenance Management system.
  6. Utilize tools, gauges, test equipment, and perform work at heights or in confined spaces.
  7. Support store operations by retrieving items and participate in training programs.
Qualifications

Education: Minimum 2-year post-secondary program in mechanical or electro-mechanical fields.

Experience: Two years in maintenance and repair of mechanical or electro-mechanical systems, or relevant diploma.

Skills & Knowledge: Diagnostic skills, understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems, computer literacy, troubleshooting, and safety adherence.
