Job summary

Suncor Energy in Calgary invites applications for a senior Maintenance/Reliability Engineer. You will lead asset lifecycle, optimize maintenance programs, and drive reliability across T&D assets in our In Situ operations.

Minimum requirements include 10 years of related experience, a B.E. in electrical engineering, and PE eligibility with APEGA. This office-based role offers a robust compensation package and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Ten years of experience in maintenance/reliability engineering.
• Experience with High Voltage Systems.
• Registered or immediately eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) as a professional engineer.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support T&D asset lifecycle, reliability, and asset performance management activities.
• Develop and optimize asset strategies, preventive maintenance programs, and corrective maintenance scopes.
• Lead T&D Management of Change (MOC), root cause analyses, technical investigations and risk reviews.
• Provide technical support to T&D Operations, Maintenance, Planning, and field personnel to address equipment performance and reliability issues.
• Support planned outages, turnarounds, and other maintenance activities to ensure the long-term reliability of T&D assets.
• Provide technical oversight and support for T&D projects, modifications, new connections and commissioning/acceptance of new assets.
• Support compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal engineering and technical standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements to T&D asset reliability, safety, and performance.

• Experience with planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria

Location and other key details:

• This is an office-based role. You will work out of the Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
• Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
• Some travel to site will be required with this role
