Job description

SCF) is looking for an energetic, empathic, and passionate Donor and Partner Relations Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, creating, directing, and implementing a variety of donor engagement initiatives. This role involves managing relationships with donors, charitable gift recipients, and community partners to ensure sustained support and impactful contributions to the organization's mission.

Reporting directly to the President, Senators Community Foundation, the Foundation Specialist will be responsible for the following:

Key Responsibilities
Donor Relationship Management
  • Develop and manage donor stewardship plan and implementation of stewardship activities through the SCF gifting communications strategy, including drafting gifting proposals, confirming donations with donors and charitable partners, and providing thank you letters to donors.
  • Develop and maintain donor database and perform regular reviews to ensure accuracy using platforms such as Microsoft Suite, Canada Helps, and CRM software. Knowledge of Salesforce is an asset.
  • Develop proposals and manage contracts for donor agreements to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Develop best practices and deploy the Gift in Kind strategy to optimize non-monetary contributions supporting community initiatives.
  • Create and compile annual funding reports to showcase the organization's achievements and financial health.
  • Familiarize with community causes, SCF positioning, and key messages of fundraising priorities.
  • Manage relationships with donors, charitable gift recipients, and community partners to ensure effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Oversee SCF activations and logistics in the community, such as the Equipment for Kids program, visits to CHEO, breakfast programs, Snowsuit Fund, etc., involving senior leadership, board members, and community partners.
  • Organize and manage donor stewardship events to enhance engagement and retain/incentivize donors and partners.
  • Provide support at events related to signature or third-party initiatives.
  • Represent the organization at internal and external events.
  • Collaborate with Finance to record, receipt, and acknowledge donations and distributions to charity partners.
  • Manage pledge collections, donor relations, and gift activity reports via CRM tools like Salesforce.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism when handling donor information.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to ensure accurate reporting and budgeting.
Qualifications
  • Experience in non-profit, donor, or charitable relations.
  • Experience in building and managing donor relationships, organizing events, managing contracts, and tracking donor activity through CRM systems.
  • Excellent communication skills across written, verbal, and digital formats; proficiency with graphic design tools like Canva is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Strong independent work skills and ability to collaborate in team settings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexible hours with occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
