THE ROLE

As an integral part of the Development team (Community Giving), the Specialist, Digital Fundraising is responsible for leading and implementing digital fundraising initiatives, playing a key role in DSFs engagement, fundraising and stewardship efforts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop and lead digital fundraising strategy to grow audiences and funding by building on ongoing campaign and trend analysis, keeping up-to-date on industry best practices and aligning campaigns with organizational engagement strategy.
  2. Manage campaigns, including producing and sending emails, developing and maintaining donation forms and implementing A/B testing. Oversee content creation, working with internal editors and graphic design staff to produce compelling fundraising content.
  3. Collaborate with digital team on building segmented email lists, campaign reporting, and fundraising-related social media and web page properties.
  4. Work with digital team and vendors to ensure online fundraising platforms are up-to-date, providing information needed for vendor support and testing fixes when provided.
  5. Contribute to wider DSF engagement strategy to grow online community through passive and active acquisition and retention tactics. Work closely with engagement team to ensure fundraising campaigns fit within wider organizational context and benefit from other DSF initiatives and external events. Bring fundraising expertise to wider DSF engagement campaigns.
  6. Collaborate with other development staff on integrated, multi-channel campaigns.
  7. Support donor relations team with online donation processing platform issues and donor inquiries such as missing acknowledgments, fields not working, etc. Act as liaison with platform vendors as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Minimum three years’ digital fundraising/revenue-generating experience, including campaign strategy, planning, donation/sales forms, email and social media production.
  2. Experience using fundraising platforms, CRMs and email management tools, particularly Engaging Networks and Marketo. Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT and Salesforce an asset.
  3. Experience with social media marketing tools, including Facebook.
  4. Proficiency in Word and Excel. Experience with Outlook, Office 365, SharePoint and Teams an asset.
  5. Experience using digital analytics to measure outcomes (e.g., Google Analytics).
  6. Comfort checking and editing issues with existing HTML, CSS and JavaScript/jQuery in a text/code editor.
  7. Basic experience with Photoshop and other design tools (resizing images, text-overlay and optimization for web and mobile) an asset.
  8. Spoken and written English required. French an asset.
