Job summary

Alstom in Saint-Bruno (Quebec) is seeking a Special Tools & Bench Test Equipment Engineer to drive design, evaluation, and delivery of maintenance tools and diagnostic gear from concept through installation on customer sites. Fluency in French and English is required, with strong leadership and autonomous work style expected.

The role focuses on analyzing technical specs, reviewing supplier proposals, approving drawings and procedures, and coordinating field installation and qualification tests

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• Completion of a mechanical technique at college is an asset
• Ability to design and create drawings of maintenance tools using Catia V5
• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge in railway would be an asset
• Knowledge of testing electromechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
• Autonomy and leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Analyze Customer technical specifications to extract special tools and diagnostic equipment requirements
• Evaluate Suppliers' technical proposals
• Analyze technical packages from Suppliers and approve drawings and technical descriptions
• Participate in design reviews with Suppliers and Customer
• Follow up on equipment delivery and installation at Customer sites
• Approve test procedures to validate equipment design
• Attend qualification tests at Suppliers

• Undertake other relevant duties related to its functions

From general instructions, you will be responsible for the follow-up of all Customer deliverables related to special maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment of a project, from design to delivery. You must make sure that all deliverables are submitted on time and meet the Customer requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Analyze the Customer technical specification to extract the specific special tools and diagnostic equipment requirements;
• Evaluate the Suppliers technical proposals;
• Analyze technical packages submitted from the Suppliers and approves technical documents such as drawings et technical descriptions;
• Participate to the design reviews with the Suppliers and Customer;
• Follow up on the delivery of the equipment;
• Attend the equipment installation and commissioning at the Customer Plans and follows up technical activities;
• Approve the test procedures to validate the design of the equipment under your responsibility;
• Attend the qualification tests of this equipment at Suppliers;
• Design of Maintenance Diagnostic Equipment
• Undertake any other relevant duties related to its functions

As our ideal candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical Engineering
• Any completion of a mechanical technique at college would be an asset;
• Be able to design and create drawing of maintenance tools using Catia V5
• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience
• If you have knowledge in the railway field would be an asset;
• You will have knowledge in testing electromechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment;
• Be autonomous and demonstrate leadership skills

Proficiency in French and English is required.Knowledge of a third language is considered an asset when working with our international partners, suppliers, colleagues, and customers.In Quebec, French remains the primary working language of our company.
