The mandate of the Department of Environment and Climate Change is to manage land, water, air, wildlife, and forests. This includes promoting, planning, and supporting the wise and sustainable use of natural resources, and protecting, restoring, and stewarding the environment for the social and economic benefit of all Northwest Territories residents.
The Coordinator administers at least 3 special projects totaling up to $3,600,000 annually, including at least 3 contribution agreements with third-party funders and at least 8 contribution agreements with Indigenous governments and organizations. The duties of the position are carried out in accordance with the Financial Administration Act (FAA), the Financial Administration Manual (FAM), the Government Contracts Regulations, GNWT policies, directives and procedures including contribution agreement administration, contracts administration, records management, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Typically attained by:
Completion of a degree in finance or business, and actively pursuing and currently enrolled in the Canadian CPA designation program with advanced standing, and a minimum of three (3) years of current, progressive, finance and accounting experience.
