Vintage Hotels in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario is seeking a Special Events Manager to lead planning and execution of corporate and social events, ensuring flawless service and memorable guest experiences across our venues.

You will coordinate with Food & Beverage, Sales and Operations, prepare BEOs for all events, manage client communications, and drive up-selling while meeting deadlines and billing needs; join a tenured team committed to hospitality excellence and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Extensive food and beverage knowledge.
  • Knowledge of conference and catering groups.
  • Two years of banquet/catering experience.
  • Proficiency with Maestro, Word and Excel is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunity.
  • Meet established up-selling and sales goals.
  • Manage small corporate meeting files.
  • Coordinate with F&B Manager to finalize event details.
  • Prepare and review BEOs for functions booked by Group Sales.
  • Coordinate with all outlets to finalize function details.
  • Book outside activities and prepare billing paperwork.
  • Attend daily Operations and Function meetings.
  • Handle walk-ins and inquiries; be on-site for coordinated events.
  • Assist with complaint resolution and peak-time support.
  • Ensure deadlines and quotes set by F&B Manager are met.
  • Report guest-related issues to F&B Manager promptly.
  • Handle client billing and maintain product knowledge.

Vintage Hotels & Niagara’s Finest Hotels is currently seeking a Special Events Manager to join our growing team! This is a great opportunity that can provide flexibility, valuable work experience, and a chance to work with a tenured team.

Job Title: Special Events Manager

This posting is for an existing vacancy within Lais Hotel Properties Limited.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunity
  • Meeting established up-selling and sales goals
  • Manages small corporate meeting files.
  • Works closely with the Food & Beverage Manager to ensure details are completed for all events
  • Coordinates and prepares BEO’s for all functions booked by the Group Sales team
  • Works with all outlets to finalize all details of function
  • Books all outside activities and prepares appropriate paperwork for billing purposes
  • Attends daily Operations and Function meetings
  • Handles all walk-ins and inquiries
  • Is on site for his/her co-coordinated events
  • Assists with complaint resolution
  • Assists Servers, Bartenders, Porters and Bussers as required during peak times
  • Meets deadlines and quotes set by Food & Beverage Manager
  • Ensures all Guest-related problems are brought to the attention of the Food and Beverage Manager in a timely manner
  • All aspects of client billing
  • Having a thorough knowledge of Lais Hotel Properties’ products and services
  • Suggesting additional product and services meeting our Guests’ specific preferences
  • Assessing Guests’ individual needs to meet standards for additional products and service
  • Actively seeking ways to meet Guests’ product or service needs
  • All other duties as assigned
Professional Requirements:
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Extensive food and beverage knowledge
  • Knowledge of all aspects of conference and catering groups
  • Post-secondary education preferably in the hospitality industry
  • Previous background in banquets/catering industry of two (2) years
  • Knowledge of computer programs such as Maestro, Microsoft Word and Excel an asset
  • Previous up-selling and/or sales experience is considered an asset
