A leading healthcare organization in Ontario seeks an Event Coordinator intern to assist in planning and executing various fundraising and marketing events. This role will provide hands-on experience within community engagement and philanthropy while coordinating with the Marketing team. Ideal candidates will have strong communication and organizational skills while contributing to meaningful healthcare initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license; able to travel for events.
  • Experience/education in related aspects valued.

  • Manage RSVP and guest lists, including VIPs.

Job Summary & Requirements

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is Central Ontario’s largest and most advanced health centre, providing a wide range of care to the communities we serve. RVH offers regional programs for cancer, heart, stroke, and child and youth mental health, playing a vital role in the lives of residents in the Simcoe Muskoka region.

RVH Foundation mobilizes the community to support the work of RVH. The Event Coordinator (University/College student opportunity) will assist in developing and executing signature, partner, third-party, and donor events from July to September.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • Currently enrolled in University/College in events, marketing, or related field
Experience:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience or education in video production, social media, and graphic design is an asset
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are assets; ability to travel to community events is required
Competencies:
  • Strong writing and editing skills with high-quality work
  • Proactive, collaborative, and able to work independently
  • Connection to the Simcoe Muskoka region is an asset
  • Understanding of how philanthropy supports healthcare and patient care is an asset
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in coordinating and executing fundraising, stewardship, and marketing events
  • Support event promotion and develop marketing materials with the Marketing team
  • Provide administrative and logistical support, including managing invitations, liaising with staff, and coordinating with third-party organizers
  • Attend Event Committee meetings as needed
  • Plan and organize meeting logistics
  • Assist with event setup, production, and cleanup; act as an RVH ambassador
  • Manage RSVP and guest lists, including VIPs and media
  • Build and maintain volunteer relationships and support volunteer activities
  • Respond to public inquiries about events
  • Perform other fundraising and event management duties as assigned
Health and Safety Responsibilities:
  • Comply with Occupational Health & Safety policies and regulations
  • Use protective equipment as required
  • Report equipment issues or hazards
  • Participate in a safety culture to prevent errors and protect colleagues and patients
