Description

Position Overview:
Visitation Catholic School, a faith-based K–8 elementary school, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Spanish Teacher to provide high-quality Spanish language instruction for students in grades K–6, while also teaching executive functioning and introductory coding classes for students in grades 7 and 8. The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching children, fluent in Spanish, and committed to nurturing both the academic and spiritual development of students in alignment with our Catholic values.

Primary Responsibilities:
Spanish Language Instruction (Grades K–6):
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Spanish lessons that include listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
  • Develop and adapt age-appropriate curriculum that reflects cultural awareness and language development.
  • Integrate Catholic teachings and values into classroom activities and daily interactions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported and encouraged to take risks in language learning.
Middle School Elective Instruction (Grades 7–8):
  • Teach Executive Functioning classes to support students in goal setting, time management, organization, study skills, and self-advocacy.
  • Teach Introductory Coding/Technology classes with a focus on problem-solving, basic programming skills, and digital literacy using age-appropriate platforms and tools.
  • Collaborate with the middle school team to integrate executive functioning strategies across subject areas.
General Duties:
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including students with exceptionalities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly; provide feedback and communicate with parents/guardians.
  • Participate actively in school-wide events, staff meetings, professional development, and faith-based celebrations.
  • Support and contribute to the school’s Catholic identity, mission, and core values.
  • Maintain clear, consistent expectations for student behavior in alignment with school policies.

Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Spanish, or a related field (required); teaching credential or Master’s degree (preferred)
  • Fluency in Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking)
  • Classroom teaching experience, preferably in a K–8 Catholic or private school setting
  • Experience or training in teaching coding and/or executive functioning skills (preferred)
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to Catholic education and the spiritual development of students
