Spa Therapist/ Body Worker- Contractor

OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION:

Provide all massage, hydrotherapy, and body services offered by the Spa at Rosewood Hotel Georgia. Cultivate and always maintain a professional attitude.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all Rosewood departmental policies, service procedures, standards, Forbes, and LQA Standards.
2. Attend all scheduled meetings, classes, and training sessions; ensure knowledge within Sense Spa is passed on to co-workers.
3. Maintain complete knowledge of the correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment only as intended.
4. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests’ service needs; respond promptly and acknowledge all guests; thank guests with genuine appreciation.
5. Speak with others using clear and professional language.
6. Always maintain positive guest relations.
7. Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
8. Maintain knowledge of hours of operation, reservations, fees, treatments, products, merchandise, and pertinent hotel information.
9. Be familiar with all hotel/spa packages, promotions, prices, and rates.
10. Set up and organize workstation with designated supplies, forms, and resource materials; report shortages to management.
11. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
12. Perform opening/closing procedures following proper cleanliness and sanitization standards.
13. Responsible for stocking supplies needed for cabinets (sheets, towels, blankets, refill oils, creams, and all products used by therapists during treatments).
14. Maintain inventory of products and supplies.
15. Conduct appointments according to guest’s comfort and desire; follow massage and body treatment protocols and SOPs.
16. Prepare guest consultations; be thoroughly familiar and able to recommend Spa products and treatments, and know pertinent hotel information.
17. Verify medical releases from guests with applicable medical conditions.
18. Follow proper draping procedures.
19. Sanitize implements and working areas.
20. Sell/promote merchandise.
21. Complete required post-treatment documents.
22. Follow procedures for dirty linens and room setup.
23. Dispose of trash and dirty linens; secure supplies and equipment at the end of each shift; monitor and adhere to the schedule throughout the day.
24. Handle emergency procedures and report any accidents to management and security.
25. Fill out necessary reports as required.
26. Follow established standard spa treatment SOPs.
27. Perform all other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as an esthetician/massage therapist in a luxury spa environment, preferably within a luxury hotel.
• Education: High school diploma; diploma or degree in a related field; Esthetic Certification from the Cosmetology Association of BC; CPR certification.
• General/Technical Skills: Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy; provide massage services using props and/or products; provide body treatments using scrubs, wraps, and hydrotherapy; assess guest needs and contraindications; prioritize, organize, and follow up; remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment; understand guest service needs; work cohesively with co-workers; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality; knowledge of SpaSoft is an asset; language skills in English are required; additional languages are an asset; must be legally eligible to work in Canada; physical ability to exert effort, transport weight, and communicate effectively.
