Intellifi is looking for a Bilingual Junior Underwriter to join our growing small loans team. The ideal candidate will have meticulous attention to detail, good negotiating skills, and be able to work according to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Role and Responsibilities:

• Receive, review and adjudicate small loan applications in accordance with terms and conditions set forth by our lender clients
• Ensure completeness of applications and request additional information beyond the application to ensure thorough and accurate evaluations (when necessary)
• Underwrite, advise clients, provide pre-approvals, agreements and partial advances to eligible applicants as per lender parameters
• Review and analyze applicant risk, which may or may not require access to applicant’s credit bureau information
• Conduct necessary due diligence which may include independent verification of information provided by applicants; duplication of applications and applicants previously flagged for fraud and misrepresentation
• Adhere to the escalation process to manage application risks, such as fraud, errors, conflict of interest, or applications that present additional complexities
• Ensure accurate record keeping of all inquiries and discussions with the applicants for the efficient processing of the loans

Skills and Qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in finance, accounting or other business-related fields is considered an asset
• At least 1-2 years of customer service experience in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual (English and French) both verbal and written, with excellent communication skills
• Experience in the financial services industry is considered an asset
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams) and other office applications
• Strong interpersonal relationship building and listening skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Demonstrates professionalism, judgment, and integrity in daily operations
• Proactive with the ability to take initiative and work independently
• High attention to detail
