Bell 2 Lodge / Last Frontier Heliskiing is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to fill the role of Sous Chef for the summer with possibility of extending into our winter Heliskiing season.

The Sous Chef is responsible for assisting the Head Chef in all aspects of running the kitchen, including managing the team and assuming role as acting Head Chef during their absence.

Summer: Overseeing daily production of the breakfast buffet operations, daily Cafe Menu, Contractor Meal Plan, all staff meals, kitchen HR, staff development, training, inventory and ordering. Up to 20 staff and 45 guests onsite, with 3 people in the kitchen per day.

Must have exceptional flavor profile/cooking skills as well as an outgoing personality & background in heliskiing resort or luxury hospitality / fine dining, or modern casual fine dining.

Your main goal is to wow guests and staff members while having a profound understanding of food cost. A solid work ethic, positive attitude and flexible approach are essential for success in this position.

Preferred Skills and Core Competencies:

Ensure consistent food preparation and presentation of the highest caliber.
Menu execution includes daily dinner prep, sandwiches, soup and baked goods for the cafe.
Ability to respond effectively to changing demands in a high pressure environment.
A friendly personality with a genuine desire to help and please others.
Experience with ordering and inventory of food products for a cost effective operation.
A positive attitude and flexible approach is essential.
Possess articulate communication skills required to interact effectively with guests, management, colleagues and suppliers.
Ability to cater to all guest allergies and dietary restrictions with in-depth product knowledge.
Ability to thrive in a diverse environment with a key focus on guest satisfaction.
Demonstrate excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Use passion and creativity for menu creation to showcase consistently vibrant and exciting dishes.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Requirements:

Food Safe Certificate is required.
First Aid ticket an asset.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary.
Previous experience working in a high end remote lodge environment is an asset.
Being physically fit and passionate for the outdoors is an asset.

Other Perks/Benefits

Accommodation and meals are provided for all employees while on rotation. Schedule is three weeks on and one week off working ten hour days. Transfers to and from Terrace weeks out are available.
