Hidden Lake Golf Club is hiring!

As the Sous Chef, you are an essential component to our pursuit of customer service excellence. Your main responsibilities include the preparation and production of high-quality food, along with continuous hands-on training of all kitchen team members, menu planning, recipe costing, and efficient purchasing, receiving, food storage, and inventory control procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the preparation and production of all food requirements for daily functions.
  2. Supervise a team of 4-5 persons responsible for preparing all food and completing daily cooking processes for members and private functions.
  3. Organize and provide all food items for the halfway house and beverage cart.
  4. Assist with ongoing training of kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food and value.
  5. Support menu planning and recipe costing as needed.
  6. Maintain efficient purchasing, receiving, food storage, and inventory procedures.
  7. Ensure all kitchen staff are trained according to municipal food handling standards.
  8. Comply with all health and safety regulations in food preparation areas.
  9. Participate in health & safety training and joint health and safety committee meetings.
  10. Complete WHMIS certification.
  11. Provide excellent customer service and relations.

Qualifications:

  1. Highest level of culinary arts training, supported by professional qualifications.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in diverse food & beverage operations, preferably in high-end establishments.
  3. Proven ability in cost control.
  4. Self-motivated, innovative problem solver with leadership and communication skills.
  5. Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
