About the Role

We are seeking passionate and dedicated Sous Chefs to join our team for the 2025 season (mid-April to mid-October). This role is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about culinary excellence, hospitality, and creating unforgettable dining experiences. The successful candidate will assist in the development and execution of a high-quality food program that exceeds guests’ expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chef de Cuisine in the development of menus and features that align with the restaurant’s vision, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation quality.
  • Oversee all food production for service, upholding high standards of timing, quality, cost efficiency, and waste management.
  • Support the Chef in menu cost analysis and recipe development.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff while setting and maintaining performance standards.
  • Enforce kitchen policies fairly and consistently.
  • Assist the Chef with administrative tasks and attend meetings as required.
  • Ensure workplace safety and maintain food preparation areas to the highest cleanliness and organization standards.
  • Secure the property and buildings at the end of each shift.
  • Follow safe work procedures and report any hazards to the Chef de Cuisine.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience leading a kitchen team in a similar position.
  • Culinary training (Red Seal or equivalent) is an asset.
  • Proven culinary production skills and strong practical skills in cost control and management.
  • Ability to provide consistent culinary and leadership direction.
  • Valid Food Safe certification is required.
  • Six (6) or more years of kitchen culinary experience, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory role.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada without restriction.

Competitive hourly rate ($24.85 - $27.50) dependent on experience, plus gratuities.
