Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in luxury hotel or restaurant kitchens.
  • Pastry experience is an asset.
  • Valid Alberta driver’s license required.
  • Successful completion of Alberta’s Food Handler Certification required.

Job Description

As a Sous Chef with Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge you will lead a team of culinary professionals in creating spectacular dishes that will create memorable dining experiences for our Guests. Your experience in managing various aspects of a kitchen will be reflective in positive Guest satisfaction and Colleague engagement results.

Salary Range:$60,000 - $65,000 per annum

Your Job Duties Include :

  • Ensure consistency in the preparation of all food items for a la carte and or buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standards
  • Maintain and enhance the food products through creative menu development and presentation
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions
  • Prepare food requisitions in a timely manner & ensure that food order items required for department are communicated to the Executive Chef
  • Maintain on-going training and development of employees
  • Ensure proper staffing and scheduling in accordance to productivity guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Previous leadership experience in the culinary field required
  • Minimum of 7 years well rounded experience in all areas of the culinary field of luxury hotel or restaurant kitchens
  • Pastry experience is an asset
  • Valid Alberta driver’s license required
  • Successful completion of Alberta’s Food Handler Certification
  • Journeyman’s papers or international equivalent required
  • Diploma Certification in a Culinary discipline required
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
  • Previous Hotel/Resort experience preferred

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
