What Our Sous Chefs Do

Our Sous Chefs are skilled culinary professionals who combine their culinary expertise with strong management skills. They oversee our Food & Beverage program, ensuring high standards in our menus, managing kitchen operations efficiently, and maintaining quality and presentation.

A Day in the Life of a Sous Chef

• Adhere to company F&B menus and purchasing protocols
• Manage budgets related to food operations, including revenue, costs, labor, and supplies; review profit & loss statements and make adjustments as needed
• Coordinate with the Operations team and Sales staff to plan, supervise, and execute banquet functions, including food preparation, service, and cleanup
• Estimate food needs and make appropriate purchases; schedule staff to meet business demands
• Collaborate with the Kitchen Manager/Chef or General Manager to address disciplinary issues and foster teamwork
• Ensure food quality, freshness, and presentation meet company standards; supervise food preparation, portioning, garnishing, and storage
• Assist with kitchen equipment maintenance and ensure compliance with Department of Health regulations through sanitation audits
• Maintain a clean and safe environment at all times
• Report critical issues to the General Manager promptly

What It Takes

• 1-3 years of kitchen supervisory experience in high-volume retail, entertainment, hospitality, or restaurant settings
• Experience with catering and presenting foods for special events is desirable
• Relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Current ServSafe certification is required
