The Sourcing Manager is responsible for assessing vendors, leading RFI/RFP/RFQs, negotiating product/service costs and contracts, onboarding new suppliers, and supplier relationship management. This role will lead sourcing efforts for the product/service/support categories it’s assigned, which may fluctuate from time to time but include: Contract Manufacturing, Product Packaging, Flower/Biomass, Product Ingredient, Sales, Marketing, R&D, IT, Legal, Finance, Operations, and HR. To be successful in this role, the Sourcing Manager will need to proactively engage with cross-functional stakeholders to successfully source products and services to support the delivery of business objectives. This role will develop the sourcing strategy, lead the assessment of third-party capabilities (production, technology, capacity, and quality), and drive the “make or buy” decision to optimize capital investments and production costs. This role leads supply assurance efforts and delivers financial value to the business through the execution of cost savings and value optimization projects. Cronos is a fast-paced company in a growing industry, so this role must be flexible and ready to support the rapid launch of new products.

This position will report to the Director of Procurement and will be remote in Canada, ideally in Ontario.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Drive sourcing efforts, create sourcing strategies, and ensure compliance in all categories managed.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and the senior leadership team to ensure business needs are being met.
  • Lead contract negotiations (pricing, commercial terms) with a focus to reduce costs, minimize risks, and ensure business continuity.
  • Build in-depth knowledge of market dynamics, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape for all categories managed.
  • Lead the capability assessment, sourcing, and development of the supply base to enable the rapid launch of new products in support of the company’s growth agenda.
  • Lead cross-functional team driving “make vs buy” decisions to optimize capital investments and production costs.
  • Lead the due diligence, qualification, and onboarding of all new suppliers.
  • Work closely with the new product launch team and operations team to ensure we provide the timely supply needed to enable the business to continue growing.
  • Deliver financial value through cost savings and value optimization projects.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including business, scorecard, and KPI reviews.
You’ll need to have:
  • 7-10 years of experience in sourcing or procurement.
  • College degree required, ideally focused on Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or other related fields. Relevant certifications (e.g., CPP, CPSM) are a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple workstreams.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of sourcing fundamentals and experience leading complex RFPs with tight deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing in a Consumer Goods or Pharma setting is preferred.
  • Capable of managing and influencing stakeholders in an indirect/project-type manner.
  • Demonstrated abilities in strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and supplier management.
  • Highly effective written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex information to varied audiences.
  • Experience in SAP; high level of proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
