Job Description:

Provide technical leadership across a broad range of data analysis functions including data modeling, structured query language (SQL), data quality, data profiling, extract-transform-load (ETL), metadata enrichment and management, data provenance and lineage, report design and other specialized data management functions. Works independently as a senior lead and may manage and direct activities related to analysis, design and support of technical data management solutions on various projects ranging in larger projects.

BREADTH & DEPTH:

1. Facilitate and document current/future data architecture to ensure effects of data are understood and communicated across all project stakeholders.
2. Work effectively with multiple teams across a broad spectrum of initiatives and functional domains, influencing and aligning others as needed.
3. Develop new standards for Data documentation for use by projects.
4. Collaborate with Developers and Solutions Architects in all phases of the development lifecycle.
5. Merging project solutions with enterprise architecture.
6. Conducting research and assessment of options for technical design issues.
7. Solving problems in detail design document.
8. Recognizing issues and developing solutions.
9. Working with operations teams and providing documentation, training, production support, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
10. Troubleshooting and debugging issues related to data integrations, including ETL, API and messaging.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

1. Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate.
2. Graduate degree preferred.
3. Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience as a senior/lead data engineer or data architect.
4. 2-4 years of Cloud Data Solution experience.
5. Experience in leading and designing complex data-intensive applications.
6. Experience leading data related initiatives with specific emphasis on data integration.
7. Expert knowledge of data modeling, e.g. relational, dimensional and hierarchical.
8. Expert knowledge of platform and data warehouse design and principles.
9. Expert knowledge of System integration via REST API, SOAP, Kafka Streaming, MQ, Topic, MFTP, API Gateway, and enterprise service bus.
10. In depth Experience in working on data integration projects or large scale, complex technology projects using formal project delivery methodology.
11. Hands-on experience working with SQL language to carry-on daily data profiling and data quality is considered an asset.
12. Good understanding of MDM concept.
13. Knowledge of Fraud domain data and systems considered an asset.
14. Knowledge of industry model, e.g. FSDM considered an asset.
