Solutions Architect, Integration and Automation

Description

Reporting to the Manager, Integration and Automation Services, the Solutions Architect – Integration and Automation is responsible for designing and leading the implementation of robust, scalable integration and automation solutions that align with enterprise architecture standards and business goals. This role bridges technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure seamless connectivity between systems and applications using tools such as Boomi, Solace, Workday Studio, and GoAnywhere.

As the Solutions Architect, you will provide expertise in solution design and enterprise platform architecture, focusing on efficient integration patterns and automation workflows. You will collaborate with business units, enterprise architects, software vendors, and development teams to define requirements and deliver well-architected solutions. Additionally, the role involves evolving and governing the enterprise integration platform.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Architect scalable integration and automation solutions using platforms such as Boomi, Solace, Workday Studio, and GoAnywhere.
2. Optimize Integration Patterns to ensure solutions are efficient, reusable, and aligned with performance and security standards, leveraging Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) where applicable.
3. Validate tools and approaches to ensure consistency with business goals, IT strategy, and technical standards; collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture team.
4. Review and approve integration designs to ensure compliance with architectural and security guidelines.
5. Drive Stakeholder Engagement by building strong relationships with technical teams, business units, and vendors to ensure successful delivery of integration initiatives.
6. Resolve Integration Issues, acting as the primary escalation point for related issues and coordinating resolutions.
7. Provide architectural guidance and support skill development for Business Systems Analysts and Integration Specialists.
8. Lead the development, enforcement, and evolution of integration architecture standards and best practices.
9. Encourage the use of reusable components and APIs, and promote adherence to development standards.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, or related field, with 5+ years experience in designing and implementing enterprise integration solutions.
2. Proficiency with integration platforms and tools such as Boomi, Solace, Workday Studio, GoAnywhere, Power Platform; strong knowledge of APIs, web services (REST, SOAP, GraphQL), and messaging protocols (HTTP, SMTP).
3. Experience in integration and automation architecture, including enterprise patterns, cloud architectures, DevOps (GitHub Actions, SonarCloud), and SDLC practices.
4. Experience with Postman, Swagger, RPA tools, and data formats like JSON, XML, YAML, and markup languages such as WSDL, RAML, HTML.
5. Proven leadership in guiding technical teams, providing architectural direction, and mentoring specialists.
6. Strong skills in requirements gathering, business process analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
7. Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions and support change management and quality control.
8. Experience managing small teams and contributing to project planning and delivery in complex enterprise environments.
9. Certifications in platforms like Boomi or Solace are preferred; familiarity with JD Edwards, Workday, and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.
