About the Role : The Solution Engineer will work alongside our sales team, engaging with current and prospective Commerce, Data, and Digital clients globally. Your work will encompass Data Management platforms, technologies, industries, and architectural patterns. You will serve customers by identifying their needs, engineering solutions, building demonstrations, participating in Proof of Value exercises, and contributing to opportunities with your technical expertise. While primarily focused on Data Management platforms, the role will also support end-to-end capabilities within global organizations, including ecommerce, supply chain, and AI technologies.
Solution Engineers must be trusted advisors, asking specific business and technical questions to uncover client requirements and align Pivotree's product offerings and services accordingly. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, enjoy consultative selling, and have experience in Data Management and deep understanding of complex ecommerce and digital enterprise solutions.
Responsibilities :
- Understand the intersection of technology, customers, and business, shaping conversations to position our solutions effectively.
- Map customer vision and requirements to digital products and solutions, leading the transition from sales to delivery.
- Provide thought leadership and participate in relevant technical and industry events.
- Consult with customer stakeholders on digital solutions and enterprise programs, building strong relationships.
- Stay updated on industry trends, opportunities, and challenges across markets and geographies.
- Partner with sales to strategize and encourage investment in our ecommerce solutions and services.
- Understand client needs to support them with tailored solutions.
- Contribute to team efficiency and opportunity traction within the ecommerce practice.
- Act as a subject matter expert during the sales process, bridging application, technology, and design to meet client needs.
- Scope, solution, and facilitate complex digital and Data Management quotes.
- Translate business and technical requirements into proposals, diagrams, and agreements.
- Create and deliver presentations and demonstrations explaining our solutions.
- Participate in Proof of Value exercises and manage SOW contracts and RFP/RFI responses.
- Assist in transitioning customers from pre-sales to post-sales implementation.
- Collaborate with Account Executives to cross-sell Data Management solutions.
- Document standards and update knowledge bases to accelerate sales cycles.
- Relay customer feedback and industry trends to product and partner teams.
- Build relationships with partners and understand their solutions for effective demos.
- Become a thought leader in Data Management, articulating product differentiation.
- Promote Pivotree’s Commerce/Data Management Strategy through assessments, migrations, and digital transformation activities.
Qualifications :
- Experience in enterprise software and services presales, managing multiple projects across global teams.
- Ability to articulate the value of digital solutions, including flexibility, speed, and cost control.
- Deep experience with Data Management Platforms like Stibo, Syndigo Precisely, Informatica.
- Knowledge of ecommerce platforms such as SAP Commerce, VTEX, Shopify Plus, Spryker, Salesforce Commerce, or BigCommerce, and supply chain solutions like Fluent, Sterling, or Manhattan is a plus.
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.
- Understanding of how Data Management integrates with commerce, supply chain, cloud computing, and related areas.
- Performance-driven with a bias for action and results.
- Proven track record in similar roles.
- Enthusiastic about learning and supporting other technologies beyond data management.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Willingness to travel (~20%).
