Solution Architect

We seek a Solution Architect with Backbase experience to join our team! When you join Aequilibrium, you get to be a part of a fun and agile company driving innovative change in FinTech and VR. This role will be fully remote; however, we are looking for candidates based out of Canada or Latin America only.

Who You Are

• As a Solution Architect, it’s your job to ascertain that envisaged solutions become reality.
• In this client-facing role, you are equally comfortable in deep-dive technical workshops and in board-level sales presentations.
• Having earned your stripes in designing web-based architectures, you have no problem finding the scope in large-scale, complex projects.
• You are the vital mainstay during implementation processes for the development team and an expert liaison to customers and partners.
• You will be part of the development team and fulfill a leading role that can only be gained through excellent performance.
• You comfortably translate customer requirements into a distinguished design, discussing specific technical details and general business outcomes.
• You dedicate yourself to security, deployment, performance, caching, sizing, scalability, and serviceability.
• By creating structure and clear explanations, you guide and oversee your team while ensuring the projects are delivered according to briefing, time, and budget.
• Part of the job involves creating technical architecture documentation, defining the test strategy with the QA lead, leading DevOps to implement CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring implementations meet non-functional requirements.
• You will travel significantly, spending time on-site during the inception phase and when providing training and workshops.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Your knowledge of the Java platform exceeds our expectations.
• You have created solutions for financial services (especially banking).
• Experienced in Spring, Maven, and Jenkins.
• You have a demonstrable understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), as well as Micro-Services Architecture.
• JavaScript frameworks, MVC patterns, and principles of REST APIs, ideally including RAML and/or OpenAPI, are second nature to you.
• You easily recall your knowledge and best practices regarding architectural frameworks.
• You have professionally worked with Enterprise Integration Patterns and Frameworks.
• You possess broad operational knowledge of application servers, databases, load balancers, and other infrastructure components required to deploy web applications in a highly available and scalable environment.
• You have excellent communication and presentation skills in English.

Nice to Haves:

• Experienced working with the Backbase platform.
• Experience with Portal/Web Content Management.
• Familiarity with architectural patterns, such as Microservices, CQRS, and event sourcing.
• Experience with server virtualization and container technology such as Docker, VMWare, HyperV.
• Professionally used Integration Platforms, API Gateway, etc.

Location

This is a 100% remote position; however, candidates must be located in Canada or Latin America.

Compensation: CAD $120,000 - $150,000 / annum
