Position Summary:

Reporting to the Solid Waste Disposal Site Supervisor, the successful candidate will focus on the proactive and innovative maintenance and operation of the Town’s Solid Waste Disposal, Composting Site Facility and Hazardous Waste Facility.

What you will need:

  1. Requires high school graduation
  2. Minimum 2 years related experience in operation of similar equipment
  3. Demonstrate front end loader and waste compactor competency
  4. Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance
  5. Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities
  6. Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques
  7. High level of personal integrity
  8. Strong work ethic
  9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  10. Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed
  11. Ability to work independently in a busy environment
  12. Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  13. Strong attention to detail
  14. Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times

What we offer:

This is a 12 month(s) contract opportunity with the Town. The hourly rate for this role is $28.81 to $33.71 (2024 Rate). The Town also offers the following to our contract employees:
