Job summary

Aversan Inc. is seeking a qualified Soldering Technician to join our team in Mississauga. The role involves hands-on soldering (through-hole and SMT), PCB assembly, inspection, and testing of aerospace-grade electronics in an onsite environment.

Responsibilities include following detailed work instructions and IPC standards, performing rework, troubleshooting, testing, and ensuring quality workmanship on ESD-sensitive assemblies. Strong attention to detail and good communication are required.

Qualifications

  • Diploma, Certificate, or Degree in Electronics Engineering Technician, Electronics Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience in electronics assembly, soldering, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair.
  • Experience with through-hole and SMT soldering and PCBAs.
  • Strong understanding of IPC-A-610 workmanship standards; IPC-J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certification is a strong asset.
  • Experience working with ESD-sensitive electronic assemblies.
  • Proficient with digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and other test equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly documentation.
  • Soldering experience is an asset.
  • High attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble aerospace electronic products and PCBA following detailed drawings and docs.
  • Inspect solder joints and assemblies for IPC compliance.
  • Perform solder touch-ups, rework, and component replacement as needed.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair assemblies to component level.
  • Conduct functional, acceptance, and diagnostic testing with test equipment.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain production test equipment.
  • Handle ESD-sensitive products with proper procedures.
  • Complete production documentation and data entry accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

We are currently seeking a qualified Soldering Technician to join our team. The Soldering Technician role is ideal for someone with hands‑on experience in through-hole and surface mount (SMT) soldering, PCB assembly, inspection, troubleshooting, testing, and repair within an electronics manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will work with ESD-sensitive products and ensure all assemblies meet quality and workmanship standards.

Responsibilities
  • Perform through-hole and SMT soldering in accordance with IPC workmanship standards.
  • Assemble aerospace electronic products and printed circuit boards assemblies (PCBAs) by following detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, and assembly documentation.
  • Inspect solder joints and electronic assemblies to ensure compliance with quality and IPC standards.
  • Perform solder touch‑ups, rework, and component replacement on electronic assemblies as required.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair failed electronic assemblies and products to the component level.
  • Perform functional, acceptance, and diagnostic testing using electronic test equipment.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain production test equipment.
  • Use digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and other electronic test instruments during testing and troubleshooting.
  • Handle ESD-sensitive products using proper electrostatic discharge procedures.
  • Complete production documentation and data entry accurately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety, quality, and company procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and other production‑related duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
  • Diploma, Certificate, or Degree in Electronics Engineering Technician, Electronics Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of hands‑on experience in electronics assembly, soldering, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair.
  • Demonstrated experience with through-hole and SMT soldering and electronic component rework.
  • Experience assembling and repairing printed circuit boards (PCBAs).
  • Strong understanding of IPC-A-610 workmanship standards; IPC J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certification is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience working with ESD-sensitive electronic assemblies.
  • Proficient using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and other electronic test equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and assembly documentation.
  • Soldering experience would be an asset.
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault isolation skills at the board and component level.Electronics manufacturing experience in aerospace, defence, medical, or other high-reliability industries is preferred.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and experience using soldering stations, hand tools, and small power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Compensation

$20 – $25 CAD (Hourly)

The base salary or rate offered to an applicant within this range is determined by considering several factors, including the individual's geographic location, skills, competencies, and unique qualifications. This ensures compensation is fair and aligned with the specific requirements and attributes of each candidate.
